A Very Cold Creek In Albacete
A couple of posts back, i mentioned that i had an idea for a shoot today, needless to say, once OOC, it did´nt really come out as i´d intended in my mind´s eye,( no amount of Photomatixing, Photoshop fixing or Color Efex pro filtering Etc. produced the desired effect). Therefore, it´s filed away to be re-visited at some point in the future.
While i´m on the subject of re-visiting, I was scanning my Archives and came upon this, from earlier on in the year (April to be exact). A long exposure, run through Photomatix and done ages ago ,the final resulting image with Color Efex Pro´s Midnight filter, was a doddle! As you may have guessed by now Color Efex Pro´s Midnight filter is one of my faved!
The bright area at bottom right of the picture, is not some weird by-product from the midnight filter, nor from Photomatix, it´s because the whole area is surrounded by high trees and the Sun broke through a gap in the canopy, to highlight that area of ground. How much more dramatic would this shot have been, if I had got the beam of light in there as well!
I´m not actually quite sure how I would do that, so it´s Something to look up before I come across this situation again in the future.
The water channel (bottom right diagonal), is an overflow run off for the water in the pond above….. I still, in my English ignorance, can´t understand why you would put a water run-off, below a waterfall!
Anyone who knows Spain intimately, knows there is a method in the madness. The madness bit I understand, it´s the method part I have a problem with….. Vis-a- vie, water run-off!
Canon 50D, f/29, 1/2 sec, ISO 100, focal length 60mm…… I´m afraid I have no more meta data than this, probably due to not working to the original file.
